The Major Arcana are the cards of power and mystery. These cards touch on all the great powers in the universe. Their names alone conjure up rich images: Strength, Death, the Devil, Justice, the Sun, the Moon, ect. When these images are combined with the illustrations on the cards, thee powers make themselves known as forces behind and within the life of the seeker. To learn some of the meanings of the Major Arcana, either click on the link above, or go here.

The Minor Arcana is divided into four suits, Cups, Pentacles, Swords, and Wands.

Within each suit there are two components: The Court Cards: Page, Knight, Queen, and King (some decks have a slight variation of this and use Prince and Princess), and the numbered cards (sometimes called "pip" cards because the numbered dots are also known as pips. On each suits page there will be a description of all the cards in that suit.

A little extra information on the Court Cards and the symbology of the numbers on the pip cards

Pages: The card of communication and youthful innocence. This is the child within us. This is a time for flexibility, change and formation. A time for new beginnings and development.

Knight: The emergence into young adulthood. This is a time for exploration, adventure and energy. This is the time to make a name for yourself in business and creativity.

Queen: The feminine side of our being. This represents the development of our nurturing, loving and caring aspects. This is an awareness of ourselves and an understanding of our role in the development of future generations. This is our child-bearing years.

King: Where the Queen is our feminine side, the King is our masculine side. This is leadership and authority, self control, discipline and principles. This is also our public side; how we see others and how others see us.
